# About me

I'm happy and proud to live in a town of under 2000. I love animated films: 2D, 3D, old-school, CG, claymation, it's all great! I watch lots of anime and am rather a Japan-o-phile, and have been a karate-ka since summer 2010. I've been consciously improving my drawing since about 2005. I learned to knit when I was five and took it up seriously in about 2008...I think.

My personal quote and general philosophy is, "Use what is in your hand." For me that means a pencil, pen, stylus, keyboard, and knitting needles. For you it may be a steering wheel, a paint roller, a sewing needle, a calculator, a mixing spoon, who knows. (Please don't recall this quote if you are arguing with your spouse and happen to be holding a hammer...!) God has a way of putting resources in our hands that will do the greatest good both for people around us and also for our own peace and fulfillment.

I'm learning that most things in life - music, art, martial arts - are less about perfect technique and more about cleverness, passion, ideas, and spirit. It's taking what you've learned and interpreting it in your own unique way so you can give something new to the world.
