As for the journal I used CSS I think you have to be Subscribed to dA to have that feature on you Journal. If you don't then just at the bottom of your journal should be a thing that says something like Add CSS. If you know CSS then you can add the code to change the colour of the border text and background. Their are some pre made packs floating around dA.
