# About me
We are a family that cosplays together. We make all our own props and cosplay costumes. We do leather working, make chain mail, create our own patterns and make every attempt to be 100% accurate to whatever we happen to be cosplaying as.Wendy and Jay function on this account while Courtney has her own account which is linked below.
Courtney's D.A -
We will take commissions and if you want us to make you a cosplay or some wicked props just drop us a line! We shall be glad to do it.
+ Jay : He is the main prop man. If you want a badass weapon that lights up and looks like it came straight out of the video game he is your man.
+ Wendy : She is the woman you want to go to if you want some cosplay clothes. Say you want to look like the Nurse from Silent Hill. She will be the one making the clothing. She is your momma' when you need some wicked clothing
+ Courtney : She is the little runt of the family. She does a little bit of everything. She learns how to make props from Jay and helps him when she can and when she isn't doing that she is learning how to sew from her mom, Wendy. She is the one you go to if you want some special effects makeup done. Say you want the mask the nurses wear from Silent Hill hm? She will be the one making the mask. She is also the one you will mainly see in all the pictures.

Hey! I have a quick question for you. When making a full head piece, is it necessary to make 2 lifecast pieces of one person to create a face piece and a cowl piece? Or can I use one completed life cast to sculpt the 2 pieces? Thank you and I really enjoy lookinga t your work!
π: 0 β©: 1
Cosplay4UsAll In reply to Crystalchik [2013-07-31 16:11:46 +0000 UTC]
When making a life cast you can make it all one piece. It really just depends on how much of a head you want to work with after. Our alginate life cast we concentrated on just her head mostly. When we redid it in Smooth-on's Body Double we did her head and as far down the shoulders as we had material for. When you cast the final life cast that you are keeping, just make sure you have enough materials on hand to fill the entire mold. With alginate you won't get a second chance to cast it later!

I can't remember if I ever dropped back by to say a proper thank you for the help with my son's costume... Soooo, yea, I'm doing it now.
THANK YOU!
You can take a look at the end results here: [link] He loved the costume and we're going to be hanging it on the wall at our new house.

You did drop me a brief note, but now there's a link with awesome pics to look at! Nice work!! So excited to see a future cosplayer in the makings.
My kids rooms look like something from a house of horror; mannequins and Styrofoam heads with gory costumes all over the place, over sized knives and blades scattered here and there, lol, so I totally understand the whole "hang it up on the wall" thing!
Thanks for sharing this and good luck on your future works! Feel free to stop by and ask any questions, any time

I'm trying to get together my son's costume for Halloween, he wants to be pyramid head. I was wondering what material you used on the sides to imitate the steel mesh.
thank you!

Just have to say thank you for all the pic by pics, walkthroughs and tutorials. I've learned more from your guys' stuff than I have trying to study here and there on my own. You produce really fantastic work. And it's awesome that you do it all as family. Thanks again!

Thank you! That is so nice of you to say. We have, like you, done most of our learning online so to know that we helped someone else learn means a lot
Also, in case you're interested, we also have a website, facebook page and YouTube channel. The links to all of these are at the end of our Deviant ID story. Sometimes stuff makes it on one site and not another, though we try to spread it around, lol!
Good luck with your projects!

You guys should get a lot more recognition for this amazing work!

Just, awesome. Keep on keepin on.

Cosplay4UsAll In reply to Cosplay4UsAll [2012-04-12 17:20:16 +0000 UTC]
Hmm. Well, there are a couple of options, depending on how elaborate (aka expensive, time consuming) you want to get. You can get a good, basic white mask that fits the closest to your face shape (round, pear, boxy, etc). Make sure it is out of paper mache type material rather than plastic as these give you more leeway for reworking. They should cost around $20 or so. I found them on ebay and Amazon. Since they are paper mache, you can easily cut it (like changing the shape of the eye holes, and redo or add to other areas with extra paper mache you can make at home ( or buy at the hobby shop). You can remove the nose, add more coverage to the side of the face or below the chin....pretty much anything! Areas can be lightly sanded, gesso'd or modge podged and painted in whatever pattern you like. Attaching lenses for the eyes shouldn't be an issue either. Tinted, see through plastics are available at many auto part stores (I used the red stuff they sell to repair/patch busted tail lights to color the gas mask lenses in my sons Resident Evil outfit).
Second option would be to have someone help you make a life cast of your head/face. Then use that to sculpt an actual, custom mask specifically for your face. There are, of course, many, many more steps, to this, would be much more expensive and very time consuming. However, if you've got the skills the end result could be a mask exactly as you wanted. Plus you would then have a mold of your face for any future projects involving masks. This is something you would either have to attempt yourself (with help for making the life cast as this is at the very least a 2 person job) or find some place (or someone) locally you could commission to do it for you.
I am not familiar with what your skills/talents are, or if the second choice would be feasible for you. The first option would probably cost you maybe $35 in supplies? The second one probably twice as much, if you do it yourself (much more if you have to commission someone).
Hope this helps!
Oh, and as a mom, I have to say this.....don't be so hard on yourself! Pretty much all of us hate our appearance at some point in time. I always tell my "kids" it is the inside that counts. If someone cannot accept/love you for the person you are inside, the outer packaging doesn't matter. Some of the ugliest people I know are drop dead gorgeous
Good luck!

Thanks!
So, a while ago, I more or less decided that I hate my face. Now, being a rather artistic and "outgoing" person I thought "what would be a really cool way to hide this thing?" I came up with the idea for masks (hollywood undead helped too, but that's besides the point.) Now, I've painted a few of my own from basic white masks you can find at Halloween stores and party shops, but none of them really fit my face too well. I've had a design in mind for a while, it would be similar to this:[link] but I'd really like to make the eyes more narrow, square, and possibly have something like sunglasses' lenses to block out my eyes. Does this seem feasible? or am I ridiculous?
