Hello coffee-kiyo! I saw your signature at Arlene’s art store in the pen and manga art section! I always hoped I would see someone else’s signature for their DA there! (I’ve written mine there in the past usually in the colored pencil section, and wrote my username down on the same practice sheet as you did too, today!) It’s been hard for me to find other artists in the area with DA accounts lol

ahahahhh its actually extremely hard to find artists in general these days the only few i have found were all older people who look down on younger artists and have a tendency to style shame anyone and everyone they possibly can ;v;'''' so ahhh its great to know someone else is out there in relatively the same area aaahhhh

Aww I know! I have met other artists but they never seem to use DA anymore!! I have other site accounts like on twitter, instagram etc so I hope to connect to others through those too. I just joined a local Meetup (anime club) that happens to have a few artists in it and the host was talking about starting up artist meetups again I'll be so happy! lol
Yeah I totally understand what you mean about older artists. Some folks remind me of how my art teacher was like in high school, he often seemed annoyed with my art and stuff I chose to draw. lol And I'm honestly kind of frustrated with what I find when seeking art groups or classes. It seems like most everything at places like the Arts Center in Troy focuses on realistic or abstract art, you know, the classics etc. And it's like, where are all the cartoonists? Is everyone hiding?
I went to an art meetup earlier this year that was hosted by Genericon and artist Maya Kern, held in RPI, and that was exciting that it was happening! But a lot of artists seemed to like bring a friend and sort of kept to themselves, not much socializing or sharing anyway. I guess I can't talk much because I was a little nervous and didn't circle the room commenting on everyone's art. But I chimed in to some general conversation. I don't think there's been another meeting since, unfortunately.
