It's probably because I've got a pretty different mindset (and a different skillset, apart from composition-type-things) for drawing and photography. When I'm drawing I'm trying to transfer an image from inside my head to outside of it, whereas when I take photos the usual idea is to pin down an interesting visual that I saw before it goes away. Also playing around with shapes.

Also I can't really draw scenery without a reference and I don't like taking pictures of people. That... that likely also has something to do with it.
