no doubt about it Your work is superb--I live in Australia & mostly the Wood Carvers around here don't paint their carvings--we usually just join together different colours & grains to create the colours needed

No actually Intarsia I know & have done some--for instance if I wanted to carve a duck [in the round] I would glue a piece of brown wood as a head then white wood for a neck then grey brown for the back --dark brown for the wings-- white for the belly & red wood for the legs & feet--& then carve the duck that way there is no need for painting--or some carvings are just some nice maple pink or red cedar with wide grain lines & no variation of colour at all unless sapwood heartwood combinations are used

Your carvings/sculptures are amazingly gorgeous- wonderful gallery!
If I were you, I'd try to make a lightbox or something more 2-D for the backgrounds of your images, or even take them outside for naturalistic photoshoots. The blue backgrounds are odd, since 1) the color is not entirely appropriate for a background, and 2) the fact that the seams of the background are partially visible can be a tad distracting.
Keep up the amazing work- it's great to see such beautiful art amongst DA's mass of famed anime/wolves/etc. that so often steal the spotlight away from other talented artists like yourself
