Llama Badges are just something you can give to artists if you feel they deserve them. It's a way of saying "hey, I like your art/you!", a way to show appreciation.
Points are a type of digital currency to be used on Deviantart. So when people commission others they can choose to give the artist real money or points.
1 point= 1 penny or 100 points=1 dollar.
You can receive points without spending real money. Usually you get them from others either for a commission, an adopt or just as a gift. You can spend these points by doing the same, commissioning artists, buying adopts or giving them away out of generosity. You can also buy core membership with points, but it takes a lot of them :/
