Nick - I do love your random twiterings - they remind me of the morning chorus - pure refreshment - a bit like a glass of lemon barley water and a Mr Kiplings fondant fancy. Actually not too keen on Fondant Fancies - prefer his Almond Slices myself - I see you more of a jam tart or fruit pie man, Do you remember those individual fruit pies you could bye – they were good – can one still get those – dunno – but well they seem far more you, but of course I could be talking out of my well worn, so therefore shiny seat of my pants. Pants as in trousers you realise – I am not American – I am in fact from ‘tother side of moon (that was my northern accent – did you like it?)

Anyway back to your informative drivel – You do sound a marvellous chap Nick – can we all bow down and tickle your toes with out eyelashes – you would like mine – occasionally they are sparkly, but not too often as sometimes the sparkles can get in your eye and cause immense pain which is most unpleasant..

I myself have not seen hostel – actually that is a lie as I have seen it in shops – on shelves, and in fact we do have a copy but I have not actually watched the contents as played on my dvd player. That is a lie – I have just remembered (can it be a lie if I forgot it – or is it just an oversight – is an oversight the same as a lie – I personally don’t think it should be – what is your take on this Nick? Perhaps you don’t lie – or maybe you are just one big oversight – or maybe just maybe you are the complete truth – YOU Nick are the meaning of life! - Yes that’s it – its all clear now) Anyway – yes it was (lets call it a fib shall we) I did watch the start of Hostel but got really rather bored as nothing much happened so gave up and watched the Sound of Music instead – Now there’s a film and a half, but what I want to know is what happened when they ran out of curtains – did those poor children have to sing to the millions butt-naked – cos that is just wrong. Hate that film now – my entire view of it has been tainted and I shall have to sell my nun suit on ebay and refuse to go to the next sing-a-long that comes my way. My social life is now at a low ebb. So please cheer me up with more of your witty banter Nick – you are all I have to live for now – Oh and of course Kinder Happy Hippos – they are just lush!

Sorry I didn't hang around to have a chat.

I was not only impressed by the work, but also by the book at LuLu. I'd like to talk to you about that at some later stage if I may.

Plus, you are lucky enough to live in Montreal ...

Merci pour toutes les images, bonne journee!

Back now.

Spending more and more time in northern France at the moment. Trying to put a deal together with some very nice frogs.

I notice that you've had a bit of a lean spell too! Busy now I suspect, getting ready for Christmas...hols?

A wine farm....?

As much as I would be like the proverbial pig in shit...a 'wine farm' is not what I'm aiming at, and certainly not for the plebeian masses on TV!.

No, just simply trying to buy some French property in Deauville on behalf of one of our clients...who has loadsamoney.

Family are all looking forward to Christmas...all except my wife, who is dreading next Thursday when we are having the whole house recarpeted...at once...Oh Joy!...but I won't be there to help, so my name is mud...ho hum.

My son has asked for 'the castle of doom' from Early Learning for one of his million presents that he has put on his Christmas list (actually, it's pretty much the entire contents of the Argos catalogue toy section intermingled with bits from Early Learning and Hamleys) but he can't write yet...so that makes for a bit of fun!!! Anyway, if he's been a good boy this year, he might get that...and daddy might help set it up for him and play with it...*trundles off to buy hordes of Orcs, Goblins and knights of Middle Earth*...roll on Christmas day.

Hope all's well in snalbans
Later Dude

That is so funny! My sons are working on a book about the 1980s computer life. It was such a strange time... and now when I leave the house and walk around town in my pajama bottoms and flipflops with some totally unrelated shirt, I'm a happy woman to live here and now.

Hi
Sorry, I only just noticed this, I seem to spend more time on others boards than my own.

You, like myself, are of an age that has inbuilt hindsight ...I love the wisdom that comes with it...not so sure about the wrinkles and the grey hair though!

So, surely if your sons are working on a book of 1980's computer life..it's going to be a pretty short book ...I remember my father got the first computer my secondary school had ever had in 1976, it resembled a Dalek and spewed out copious amounts of paper while making a relatively satisfying 'Chugga Chugga Chugga' noise. Oh yes, and for those that were really clever, you could program it to print out pictures of naked women made up of letter and numbers. Surely Computer geeks weren't invented then?

Let me know how your boys get on.

Nick

My boys were on a kind of "network" back in those days. There was a guy (we later found out he was a pedofile! Yikes!) who ran a thing called Pigsty (appropriately) and he would get games programs and lots of other stuff for anyone who wanted them.

My youngest son learned to program before we even owned a computer. He'd go down to the radio shack and get the guys to let him input and run them! By the time he got to high school, he knew way more than the teacher and so all he did was make old computers work again.

He's still saavy but is happy to say that the guys that work for him are the real geeks.

Hello Nick,

Thank you for the watch addition, in several ways I'm honoured! Out of the many things on the site that one can look forward to they mean the most to me; acting as an encouragement to submit new photos and challenge myself. Your support is much appreciated!

You've made my day in more ways than one. All the best to you and enjoy the rest of the weekend,

Evan

There. Posted some kiddie work, just to defy the weirdos!
Yours, droopely,
Yazz

ps; just a though about submission of kids images, where they as you to put 'keywords' (so as people can search your stuff) don't put kids, put something else 'smile' or an innocent misleading word, to confuse the evil ones!

Called by, no new work? How ya doin'?

Altered-State In reply to Yazzphoto [2006-06-02 09:48:31 +0000 UTC]

I have some new grown up portrait work almost finished. I am just starting a small side line in kids photography. It's pretty much just for friends and family. I don't charge at the moment as it is enabling me to put a portfolio together. When I have finished the touching up in PS I'll note you.

Unfortunately because of the 'other' types of stuff available on DA (which is great, don't get me wrong, just because I'm Victorian Dad doesn't mean I don't appreciate a nice pair of legs)(hell...my kids are all on here) I don't want the pics to be up for too long. I have parental consents but I'm not convinced that this is the best place to showcase this type of work.

My girls are off to a Brownie camp this weekend...so maybe I'll have time to finish.I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for drooping in....'drooping'?

Hmm, never gave that much thought... I think to the innocent, all is innocent. Those who want to use kid pic for evil, will. (Weirdos) Political correctness gone mad, if you can't post, or have to think about the pervs every time you want to put up a pic of a smiling kiddie.

Look forward to your new work, I'm going to post my 2 little models, (in a reaction to your comment!) who are selling photo bags for me, as always, a cracking set of fun photos, I can never decide on which to put up, but putting up tons of stuff tends to 'dilute' the power of one good image.

Altered-State In reply to Yazzphoto [2006-06-02 10:10:36 +0000 UTC]

God forbid that I should ever be associated with pc'ness...but some of the favourites that I have... may not sit comfortably alongside my showcasing their kids...

I have my own site already in production, but that won't be ready until
a) I have enough of a portfolio
b) I get my act together and finish off the graphical work
c) I manage to blag one of my clients into putting the coding together (for free!)

Oh...the problems of having to spend time actually working...bummer!
