Umm... That's a difficult question. x//DD I guess the number one thing to do is to stop looking. That's what basically happened to me - I was looking for love everywhere, and I was really unhappy... but then I got over it and thought "what the hell, I don't need a gf to be happy right now, I need to concentrate on myself and my friends." Just a few months later I suddenly had a girlfriend. :') It was just luck. Finding someone with whom you just click... and then having that person fall for you too.
And uh... yeah. Desperation and bitterness isn't very attractive anyway. I met this guy online once, and since I'd just moved into a new town and didn't know anyone there, I told him that hey, it'd be nice to have friends here! So we started talking... But then he told me that he's been single for a while now and that he'd like to have a gf again and even went as far as to say that he hadn't had sex in a long while. Ok, I wasn't interested in him in the first place, being a lesbian and all, but that just made him sound like an absolute creep and killed my desire to even be friends with him. And I'm not saying you're a creep like this! I mean, I don't even know you. : DD But my point still stands: trying too hard will not work. Ever. The only kind of person you'll find that way is a desperate one, and a relationship based on desperation for love isn't going to work or last.
Yeah. Long answer is long, I'm really sorry about that OTL. But like I said, the best thing to do is to stop looking, it'll make you happier and I guess more approachable when you don't seem like a bitter single person. :3 Make new friends, lots of them, talk about something you both enjoy, have fun... that's kinda what happened to me. I entered a new fandom, got to know new people, had good times with a couple of them that I liked the most... and through some sort of miracle the one I had a crush on started liking me back. x///D
Or hey, online dating sites can lead to something too! One of my friends is currently in a relationship with a girl she met on a dating site (I think OkCupid?).
