Dear Madam
I am the Co-owner of the NevaehVision.com website. You recently voiced you opinion in regards to a magazine venture entitled WalkingBlind that I and my partner setup and manage for the betterment and perpetuation of the arts. In regards to the typography and graphic design I am a 25 year award winning veteran graphic artist and photographer as well as web designer and well respected in the professional community. It is unjust to flame us publicly without first having the guts to come to us with your concerns. Time magazine and People magazine use the same fonts or haven't you noticed, an they are employing similar designers and skilled layout personal as we. Secondly our magazine certainly does do its artists justice and I have the accolades from them to prove it, where do you get off stating such a preposterous idea. They had to approve their respective layouts before it went to publication. All layouts are carefully scrutinized by the artists themselves. We attempt to hold a very high standard to which I will note other similar periodicals have been lacking. Our focus is quite clear the free promotion of the arts for the arts and artists sake.
I do not appreciate, although you are fully entitled to your opinion, the down playing of a work that was months in the making, not to mention the out of pocket cost in the thousands for adverts, servers, software, and other such materials, services and resources. You simply are trying to undermine the moral of our entire team directly out of the starting gate. I believe if one is going to slander another persons work, then they themselves should be full ready to prove it by doing it themselves and better. I have looked at your art and I would love to give my opinion of it publicly but that would be unprofessional.

I stand behind my opinions and every word I said, and could easily find people (professionals with as high credentials as you stated to have) who would agree that the typography is indeed poor - I honestly thought it was the work of an amateur because I'm used to seeing much better solutions in professional magazines. There is something called "critique", and designers and artists alike should be prepared to take it, and if not then they should not be doing the job in the first place.
If you find my critique unjust it's perfectly fine, though your accusations are over the top, but I understand the part ego plays in art and design is inevitable.
If you wish to comment on my art feel free to do so, that's why the comments are enabled in the first place, and that's the whole point about the deviantART community. I'm not afraid of critique.
